Development of society is achieved when we have good lively-hood and sound environmental properties around us.
During Mieko’s various trips to Bengal she found that Women of Bengal doesn’t go out of her home due to cultural beliefs in that community. The empowerment and confidence of women must start from her own home. She has to participate in providing good sanitation and education to children, specially the female child. She is truly empowered when she is having her own resources giving independence in the male dominated society.
Through their inherit art of Kantha and the Sari she wears daily, she can change her life. Recycling the same sari may come back in new form. It gives her immense pleasure seeing a modern transformation. This is the simplest form of fashion giving back to the society.
